Stanbic Bank donate to Gbese Mantse ahead of 2023 Homowo celebrations

Stanbic Bank Ghana has donated a sum of Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 30,000) to the office of the Gbese Mantse and Adonten of the Ga State, Nii (Dr) Ayi- Bonte II towards the upcoming Homowo festival celebrations.

Head of Brand and Marketing at Stanbic Bank Mawuko Afadzinu, who presented the cheque on behalf of the bank noted that Stanbic as a brand is well cast in a traditional African setting and appreciates the social codes and practices that characterize Africans; that is why the bank keeps shaping the cultural calendar of the continent they call home and aggressively driving its growth.

He said, “The donation allows us to continue to uplift our communities and aligns with the festival’s goal to build social cohesion while promoting national tourism growth. We at Stanbic Bank are proud of our longstanding relationship with the Gbese Mantse. As a Chief is known for championing various developmental projects, especially for the youth, we are pleased to support his office in ensuring that he is able to do even more”.

He added that “The Homowo festival is a very important festival for the Ga people. It is a time for celebration and it is also a time to display our rich Ghanaian culture. The Homowo period also fosters unity and togetherness of the people of the Ga community as they come together to celebrate.

The festival also allows young people the opportunity to showcase their creativity and talents in sports such as table tennis. We deem it a responsibility as a bank to continually support cultural initiatives that bring people together in unity, foster peace and growth in the community, and encourage young people to promote our culture and develop themselves and their skills in a positive way.”

The Gbese Mantse and Adonten of the Ga State Nii (Dr) Ayi- Bonte II received the cash donation from the bank and thanked them for their continuous support. He said, “Stanbic Bank is a bank that continuously shows its commitment to supporting the growth of the Ga community.

They are the first people to donate towards the festival and we are truly grateful to them for their generosity. I am certain that this donation will go a long way to make this year’s festival a memorable one.
