Chief Operating Officer (COO) for StarTimes, Felix Ahonzo has said StarTimes is investing more in local contents to be able to get closer to the local consumers.

He said movie makers and actors will get the opportunity on StarTimes to roll out their content to the consumers that they (StarTimes) will be paying for it.

Answering a question on why a consumer should choose StarTimes over other Pay-TV channels, Mr Ahanzo stated that StarTimes is supporting the local industry and it should be more reason why a Ghanaian consumer should stay glued to StarTimes.

“We will give you the best of entertainment at least possible cost and we are supporting the local industry by investing into our actors in Ghana,“ he said.

“We are not putting pressure on your pocket" he added.

In an era when most Pay-TV channels are running out of business, the StarTimes COO has affirmed Ghanaians that his outfit is ready to stay and there is no way they will run out of business like others.

‘We are confident that with our presence in the market, we have come in to stay. We have seen other people come, we have seen other people go but we are positive that with the kind of support and the content we are offering, we are going to be in this market for a very long time,“ Mr Ahonzo assured.

He added that ‘‘Recently we’ve heard of some of our competitors change the nature of their business because the pay TV is regulated and has a lot of content purchase, an agreement that has to be signed here and there to make sure that you remain relevant to your customers."

Mr Ahonzo noted that StarTimes as a pay-TV company is making its efforts to roll out new contents to ensure that they give their very best to their customers.

‘Adepa and the Challenge‘ are some of the new programmes StarTimes is giving to their customers.
