Ghana's state broadcaster, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), has accused the Deputy Minister of Information, Sylvester Tetteh, of illegally demolishing its bungalows at Weija.
In a series of posts shared on its official handle, GTV Ghana, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, the media house asked the Ghana Police Service to intervene in the matter and stop the illegal demolition.
“Police stop Illegal Demolition of GBC Bungalows at Weija by Deputy Minister of Information, @SlyTettehBNA,” one of the posts reads. This is the Deputy Minister for Information and MP for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh.
“Note: A lawmaker must not be seen to be breaking the law. A word to the wise,” another post which had a picture of the deputy minister read," the posts said.
In one of the posts, the media house shared a video from the scene of the incident.
The video showed a bulldozer clearing the debris from the site of the demolition.
The bulldozer was collecting the debris of the demolished structures into a truck.
The truck, after it was filled to the brim, left the site and was followed by the bulldozer.
A number of armed policemen could be seen at the scene of the incident.
