Many Ghanaians were left in shock when news broke of the passing of Gospel musician Jacob Ajola.

While many still wonder about the circumstances of the singer's death, a recorded message from the late singer to his younger brother has popped up.

In the message, which was shared on Accra-based Neat FM, a deeply emotional Ajola shared some advice, love, and a plea for understanding with his brother, identified as Eben.

In the message, Ajola urged his brother to take prayer seriously and focus on building a stable future.

He advised his brother to find his purpose, work hard, and establish himself financially before considering marriage.

Ajola shared his own regrets and encouraged Eben to seize opportunities, even if it meant travelling abroad.

"Do not play with prayer. I want you to take your finances seriously. At your age, what you need now is to find your purpose, work on it and be established. When you are established, you get the woman to marry. There are some things I can't tell you about. Focus on yourself. Build yourself. Learn, pray, make money. Build yourself. I wish somebody had given me this advice some time ago. Make it for yourself. If you have to travel out of the country, push, do it," Ajola advised.

He urged his brother to build his life before considering a relationship or marriage, stating that the breakdown of many relationships is mainly due to finances.

"Go out and make it. When it's time to marry, you get somebody to marry. I'm not saying anybody is bad. But what I'm saying is the reason they will leave you is because you don't have money. So why don't you make the money? Build yourself," he said.

At a point, Jacob could be heard telling his brother to get in touch with a colleague teacher to get his belongings and he may not be available anymore. But he assured Eben of his prayers and support.

"But I'm praying with you. Wherever I am. I'm going to be praying with you. Because you will not see me again. But I'm praying with you. I'm praying with you, Eben," he said.

In his final words, Ajola expressed his love for Eben and asked for forgiveness.

He also advised Eben to change his environment to help his mind and to change their surname, which he believed carried a negative connotation.

"You may not see me again. You will not see me again. This thing I'm going through. It affected Daddy. You didn't come to meet him that much. But you have to be strong. Don't play with prayer. But you need a new environment. You need a new environment to help your mind. I'll be praying with you. I love you, Eben. I'm sorry that I have to do this. Forgive me.

"Now the last thing I'll say is hold on with your Ghana card. First, I want you to change your surname. The Ajola name is not a good name. Change it," he said.

Jacob Adjola passed away in October 2024, leaving fans and Christians in shock. According to multiple Facebook posts, Adjola died by suicide in the early hours of Monday, October 14, after leaving a note with his church. The details of the note have not been disclosed.
