Step hard on toes that step on people’s right – Edward Adeti to Journalists

The Best Journalist of the Year, Edward Adeti has urged journalists to step hard on the toes that are stepping on people’s rights.

Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey on Monday, after winning the Best Journalist of Year, Mr. Adeti emphasized the importance of bold investigative reporting and should not shy away from ruffling feathers, especially when it involves standing up for people’s rights.

“It’s been very difficult and it’s been very rough I mean investigative journalism is like a road where you have many toes and many feet and you are about to step on them but for me I keep saying if there are any feet and toes on the road that is stepping on people’s right, don’t be afraid to step on them, in fact step hard on these toes, step hard and walk on them.

“As long as one is doing what is right, there is no business having your name in the good books of bad people. Just do what is right”, he stated.

According to him, investigative journalism inherently involves challenging those who abuse power, and journalists should be willing to take bold steps to expose wrongdoing.

“If there are individuals or entities trampling on people’s rights, don’t hesitate to confront them head-on,” he stressed.

Mr. Adeti’s comments underscore the critical role investigative journalism plays in promoting accountability and justice.

As Adeti aptly put it, “Doing what is right should be the only priority, regardless of whose toes you step on.” His words serve as a rallying cry for journalists and whistleblowers committed to uncovering the truth.
