National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi, has been warned to stick to his usual “lies and propaganda” and stay far away from commenting on the One Village, One Dam project promised by the Akufo-Addo led government.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, who issued the advice, expressed his disgust at the statement issued by Sammy Gyamfi, claiming that the promise to construct a Dam in every village in the five (5) Northern Regions, was one of the superfluity of grandiose promises made by President Akufo-Addo and the NPP in the run-up to the 2016 General Elections.

According to Mr Antwi-Boasiako, judging from the statement issued by the NDC activist, he could easily tell that the latter lacks basic understanding when it comes to the construction of dams for irrigational purpose.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC claimed that the Nana Addo-led government is “causing financial loss to the state” with the “shoddy” project.

“It has become abundantly clear that the One Village, One Dam policy was one of the deceptive promises of President Akufo-Addo, intended for electoral gain and not really meant to be fulfilled. It therefore comes as a surprise to us that this same President Akufo-Addo is promising to investigate complaints over the quality of 'Dams' constructed under the 1V1D program, whilst the Vice President is said to have also ordered that payment to some contractors be halted over shoddy work,” a portion of the statement read.

But speaking in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Chairman Wontumi, as the NPP Chairman is affectionately called, counselled Sammy Gyamfi to “stick to his usual lies and propaganda and leave the issue of construction of dams to the experts to handle it”.
