Stop deceiving people with false Bible teachings

A Catechist of the Atonsu Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kumasi, has expressed discomfort with the false Bible teachings by charlatans, whose only motivation is to dupe innocent people.

Mr John Henry Owusu said the detestable conduct of some self-professed prophets and men of God should be a source of concern to every genuine Christian, and that they needed to be exposed.

Delivering a Good Friday sermon, he said the current situation where the airwaves are inundated with prosperity messages from the self-professed prophets is hurting the image of Christianity.

He preached on the theme “Christ our example of suffering.”

Mr Owusu said it is important for Christians to mirror Christ-like qualities of modesty, humility, integrity and service to society, and refuse to be corrupted.

“As we joined millions across the world to celebrate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, they should renew their faith and commitment to spread the gospel and bring salvation to the people.”

Christ suffered on the cross for Christians to be liberated from sin, he was wounded for us to be cleansed by his blood, and humiliated for us to be exalted”, he added.

Mr Owusu encouraged the congregation to take part in the on-going biometric voter registration.**
