Former President and founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry John Rawlings made lamentations of issues about the party when he celebrated the 38th Anniversary of the June 4 uprising in Wa in the Upper West, a former party chairman has observed.
The NDC founder while addressing supporters in a fiery monologue speech castigated the Mahama-led government revealing that he nearly quit the party he founded because of sickening greed and corruption that are averse to the principles of June 4 uprising.
But a party stalwart in the Ashanti Region and one-time regional vice chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Sani has hit back at the founder over the personal castigations and lamentations indicating that he would not be allowed to take over the party.
“The lamentations and complaints were personnel. He was not speaking to benefit the larger members of the umbrella family. There is an agenda by the founder” he said.
“If the Rawlingses want to enter into your chamber they will first come to sit in your hall so that when you open the door to your chamber they can enter” he added
According to him, the castigations are lamentations by the former head of state are borne out of bitterness as the current leadership of the party refuses to consult him on daily basis for advice on the day-to-day running of the party.
“But Rawlings should know that we are in a computer age. We are not in the era of the military rule now where he can issue decrees. We are practicing democracy and he must know that”
According to Alhaji Mohammed Sani, former President John Rawlings Rawlings is a number one pretentious character in the history of this country having the penchant for painting innocent people black for personal reasons.
“People like you do not know him well. It is only Rawlings who can put stones in a pillow and be using it to hit you. He will tell people that look I am using pillow to hit them but they are crying”, he analyzed.
