Stop petty stealing and laziness - Akufo-Addo charges workers

President Akufo-Addo has charged all workers in the country to disist from indulging in petty stealing and laziness at their various work places.

Speaking at this year's May Day Anniversary,the President of the Republic and the first worker of the Republic President Akufo-Addo charged Ghanaian workers to stop bad practices in our public institutions which negatively affect productivity.

According to him, the complexity and costliness of practices including petty stealing,long stay on telephone during working hours,attending funerals on working days,petty gossiping during working hours and laziness at our workplaces militate against productivity increase and our general development.

President Akufo-Addo also indicated his awareness of the situation as far as the income of workers is concerned. He said that the despite the fact that the income of workers is insuffecient, the attitude of workers and services they provide and general productivity level do not commensurate the income they currently receive.

The President of the Republic used the occasion to pay glowing tribute to past TUC leaders and also assured the current TUC leadership of his government's support.

His Excellency reiterated his position on the galamsey menace.He assured the nation of his commitment to end galamsey operation in the country.
