Bole, Jan. 3, GNA - Madam Elizabeth Salamatu Forgor, the Bole District Chief Executive, has appealed to Ghanaians, especially Muslims, not to read politics into the National Identification (NID) programme to ensure its smooth implementation She said it was in the best interest of every Ghanaian to have a national identification card for the purposes of easy identification and planning to enhance development.
Madam Forgor made the call when she joined orthodox Muslims in prayers during the Eid-Ul-Adha celebration at Bole and appealed to them to cooperate with officials of NID who would register them. She also told the Muslims not to entertain fears about the impending re-denomination of the cedi because it was not meant to devalue the cedi but rather make the handling of the currency easier to facilitate business transactions. The DCE urged the youth in the district to take advantage of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) to contribute their quota to national development. Madam Forgor urged Muslims not to allow themselves to be divided on political and religious lines even among their own sects.
