The Ghana Police Service has been urged to, as a matter of urgency, crack down on the viral toy gun games before it degenerates into something unfortunate.

The call was made by ace broadcaster Afia Pokua, who wants the police to move in immediately and address the situation unfolding in certain parts of Kumasi and Accra.

In the last few days, viral videos have shown some Ghanaians engaging in the game, with groups of people playing with toy guns.

While some Ghanaians view it as merely playful, others are concerned about the possible security threat.

Critics believe that with the country heading into elections, some unscrupulous persons could take advantage of the toy gun games and engage in something sinister.

Afia Pokua belongs to that school of thought, and she has petitioned the police via her social media pages to act swiftly on the matter.

Afia Pokua made this known in a post shared on social media.

“Ghana Police must stop this senseless toy gun game before someone takes advantage of it to do real harm. Mehuuye-anka,” she said.
