Stormy periods of Ghana’s economy over – Ntoso

Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Volta Regional Minister on Monday observed that the stormy periods of the country’s economy were over.

“The stormy periods of our economy are over. The economy has moved from the stormy stages to performance,” she stated.

Ms Ntoso made the observation in an address to Muslims in Ho at a prayer to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The country is almost out of the refinery and like gold, very soon everyone will be happy,” she said.

Ms Ntoso commended President John Dramani Mahama for taking “difficult” decisions for the good of the country and said by 2016, the citizenry would appreciate President Mahama as the best ever in the country.

She therefore called on the citizenry to support the government to reposition the economy for the good of all.

Ms Ntoso urged people in the Volta region to desist from smuggling petroleum products and cocoa to neighbouring countries because such acts were affecting the economy badly.

She presented 50 bags of rice and 50 cartons of cooking oil to the Muslim community in Ho on behalf of President Mahama.

Alhaji Alfa Anas Hamidu, acting Volta Regional Chief Imam called for love and unity among the Muslims and stated the resolve of Muslims in the Region to co-exist with other religious groupings.

The gathering prayed for the President and the country’s economy.
