Stripping Ex-Convict Jailed

Hohoe, May 19, GNA - Bright Future Adeadeh, an ex-convict, who stripped himself naked at the Hohoe Magistrate Court recently has been convicted to a four-year jail term for stealing. Adeadeh threw visitors in the courtroom into uncontrollable laughter when he zipped down, removed his erect manhood and beckoned a lady in the audience to get closer to enable him 93reduce his sexual tension." Adeadeh, whose intention was to feign insanity by that conduct, had earlier acted as an epileptic in court but all these failed to influence the court. Mr Stanislaus Amanoipo, delivering judgement, said the convict should be sent to the psychiatry hospital for further examination. Mr Amanoipo said the convict's plea could not be taken seriously as he was released from prison on a similar offence and must therefore serve an enhanced jail sentence. Mawuli Bokortsey, his accomplice, has been granted a bail of GH¢ 2,000 with two sureties to re-appear on May 26. Assistant Superintendent of Police Benjamin Dadzie told the court that Adeadeh and Bokortsey stole four rams from a nine-year-old shepherd last year and sold the rams to a kebab seller. The prosecution said they denied their involvement in the crime even though the nine-year-old identified them as those who forcibly took the rams.
