Atimpoku (E/R), April 26, GNA- Gifty Nutumpah, a first-year student of the Akwamuman Secondary School, Akosombo, has appealed to philanthropists and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to help finance her education due to her poor parents.
She said her parents are peasant farmers who find it difficult to finance her schooling as a result of which, she has to sell bread and "Ekulemi", a local beverage at Atimpoku after classes to pay for her fees and a room she has rented at a village near the school.
She said in the last term, she had to absent herself from classes for three days in order to sell her wares to enable her pay her school fees of 130,000 cedis, before she was allowed to write her terminal examination.
Gifty said " this often leaves me tired and therefore not able to concentrate on my studies."
