A close friend of the final year student who died after falling from a building on the University of Ghana campus has revealed that the lady, Jennifer Nyarko, had relationship issues prior to the incident Wednesday morning. According to the friend, Jennifer Nyarko had complained persistently about her cheating boyfriend, a situation her colleagues link to the cause of her supposed depression prior to her demise.

Jennifer Nyarko, a final year Consumer Science student of the University of Ghana, is said to have fallen from the fourth floor of the Akufo Hall annex A building Wednesday morning. It's unclear for now whether she deliberately jumped off the building or was pushed by someone but a friend who was with the deceased hours before the incident tells GhanaWeb that Jennifer was bitter about challenges she was facing in her relationship.

‘Since last semester, she always complained to me about her boyfriend whom she claimed was cheating on her... I also encouraged her not to think about it too much', she said.

She reveals that the deceased also suffered from a psychological problem with many of their mates complaining about some of her actions.

‘She was a year my senior in Secondary School but we became mates here in the University because she deferred her studies for a year for unknown reasons. Her course-mates reported that there were instances where she was seen carrying stones to class. That was when she was resident in Alexander Kwapong Hall’

According to the narrative, Jennifer Nyarko [the deceased], jumped from the fourth floor of the Akufo Hall annex A building at around 5:00am. Her body is said to have been taken to the morgue after she was examined and declared dead.
