The Suhum and Apedwa police have intensified their efforts to arrest a 21-year-old unemployed, Collins Yao Afoopong, who is suspected to have murdered a 19-year-old farm labourer, Kwasi Awotse Krobo at Apedwa in the eastern region on October 21. According to a police spokesman, the deceased who is a palmwine tapper for the suspect's mother at Apedwa, picked a quarrel with Afoopong over an alleged rampant stealing of Krobo's dried cocoa beans at his village. He said after the two were separated and the deceased was going to his house, the suspect allegedly chased and hit him with a stone and he fell unconscious. Krobo died when he was being conveyed to the hospital. He said when the suspect realised that the deceased had died he bolted into the bush.
