Sunyani (B/A), Jan. 5, GNA - The Senior Minister, Mr J.H. Mensah, has said the housing problem facing medical personnel at the Sunyani Regional Hospital would be resolved to create stability in the hospital.
"Staff welfare and certain anxieties among some of the personnel should be tackled once and for all," he said when he inspected the hospital.
"There is the need to provide accommodation for medical personnel to enable post-graduate doctors to stay to become specialists," Mr Mensah said.
He said remuneration for medical personnel that would help create stability is ''a peculiar human-centred'' activity of the government. Mr Mensah said the abandonment of the Public Service Reform Program was most unfortunate and needed to be reviewed and revised. Dr. Daniel Asare, Medical Director of the Hospital said, all the units at the hospital were in operation and the equipment had made the hospital one of the best in Africa.
He said the hospital did not have its separate power system and this had posed a lot of challenges as far as the operation of the modern equipment was concerned.
