The government planned this ahead of time and did not mince words in declaring this propaganda. It is a shame though for law in Ghana. This is too much open and even babies can read in to this one. What a shame. It's sad the judges allowed themselves to b used!
God have mercy on us. Who do we trust now? It's a big disappointment by the NPP, it only goes to prove the point that you can never trust the politician.

I think the rule of law is working, and I wish to congratulate President Kufuor for not disrespecting the first ruling but rather using the due process.

Ghanaian lawyers should throw their law books to the garbage. This decision of the SC was the dark episode in the annals of history for Ghana. Amarteikos will come back one day and get ride of those judges who sold their conscience for a plate of fufu. Shame unto the SC. Aboa bi.

It is lawful because it could only be settled in the courts and the supreme court was the only place so the expasion or the numerical extension was the appropriate one.
It was wrong in the first place to consider the Fast Trach High Court as illegal becasue Ghanaians are tired and sick of long delays in the administartion of Justice as it was demonstrated during the P/NDC era.
For a legal scholar like Tsatsu to go to court to challege the legality of the court was very unfortunate because he Tsatsu knows very well that he will account to the Ghanaian public -one day.
Mismanagement or corruption is a crime and I believe that he should have chanelled his resources in defending himself on the charges against him. I appreciate the good work of the Attorney General, Mr Addo Dankwah for his professionalism as a lawyer.
Tsatsu, please use your best brain, Prof Dankwa to prove your innocence.
Ben Brobbey
The reversal is no more politics than the original decision. As I understand it, the Supreme Court has jurisdiction to reverse its decision where it was made in error of the law.
Albert
Let us not give our supreme court a bad image. Which ever way u see it, I personally think the first ruling 5-4 was political than Law.

If we appoint our own referees in a "match" we are part of the competitors, what do you expect?
The stand of all former judges in this case shows that there was no review but only additional ones (with thier position well known even before the verdict )were added to subvert the constitution. It's sad indeed for the juducial to allow itself to be uesd by the executive.Democracy still suffers.
Nana Gyan
Why should anybody think that the decision is political? Are the judges in politics? If we don't stop looking at everything from the political point, we shall not move forward. Why didn't ask a similar question when Tsatsu "won"? Let's be more serious as a people and move forward than seeing everything as political.
Jerry Nyarko
I think the reversal of the Fast Tract Court is never a law rather a politics. Simply because, the first five judges who ruled against the Fast Track Court still stood by their words, while the two new judges who were nominated by the president and they are the same people who voted in favour of the Fast Tract Court, so it is purely political.
marozy
what is politically about this? the rule of law must prevail. supreme cout, bravo long live our dear motherland.

It is not even politics but politricks. It is obviously bad for our democracy. The appointment of Justice Kwame Afreh to the Supreme Court was done with explicit ( you can dispute that but it was obvious) instructions to overturn the decision. This too bad for judicial independence.
Florence Fynn
I think the Atorney General is right because you can cause financial loss to the state and be free. Any punishment that should be given to him should be done immediately.
Kwame
This is sending the wrong signal, it means any government could appoint judges that he or she believes will champion his or her course.

Ctd....the Supreme Court as presently constituted has all but ONE (emphasis mine) judge appointed by the (P) NDc government so if it is a matter of politics as this poll has asked, then it must be clear that loyalties of our learned Judges is not premised on political expediency but a marked commitment to make the rule of law work in a fledgling democracy like ours. My plea with you is to be careful in the sort of questionairres we put forth; after all, a simple comment like "Nobody brought Land from Heaven" was enough to throw the Northern Part of Ghana into turmoil. The earlier we start to accord respect to and thereby promote the independence of Judiciary in Ghana, the better our chances would be at attracting the much needed FDI's to help propel our country to heights achieved by other states in this era of globalization. Thanks for the Space

This is pure interference in the judiciary. The Ghanaian young democracy is in danger. NPP can not rule Ghana for ever they must remember that. Kuffour should concentrate on our economy instead of political pursecutions which is going on in Ghana.
