Supreme Court of Ghana Supreme Court of Ghana

Former Director of the Ghana School of Law, Mr Kwaku Ansa-Asare has advised the Supreme Court to unite the country with its decision concerning the vacant seats brouhaha.

During an interview on TV3’s Key Points monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Kwaku Ansa-Asare slammed the Supreme Court over its inability to correct its mistake after they were pointed out in the last sitting.

According to Kwaku Ansa Asare, the Supreme Court should have vacated their order after they realized they had erred in some of the filed documents

“The moment the whole nation descended on the Supreme Court, the next opportunity they had, if the court makes a mistake, it has an inherent power to correct the mistake. They could have taken advantage to say we thought it was the wisest thing to do but we realized we added to the problem so we are vacating the order and urging the leadership of the house to go back and find an amicably solution. That should have been the approach” Kwaku Ansa-Asare added

Kwaku Ansa Asare described the ongoing brouhaha as a constitutional lawlessness.
