An application for review filed by two caretaker deputy ministers, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Dr. Omane Boamah over the Supreme Court's decision on the purchase of a state bungalow by current NPP Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey has been dismissed.
According to them, the action by Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey contravened Articles 20 (5) and 20 (6) and amounted to abuse of the discretionary powers of a public officer.
The two deputy ministers accused the former minister of abusing his office in his attempt to purchase the No 2 Mungo Street in the Ridge house where he resided.
On May 9, 2012, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey indicating that the issue of abuse of office and conflict of interest were supposed to have been filed at the Commission For Human Rights and Administration Justice (CHRAJ).
