A suspected thief was assaulted for allegedly stealing in a community in Old Bibiani, Western North Region.

The young man, identified as Prince, also known as Baron De Young Don, is accused of stealing a flat-screen TV, a standing fan, an iPhone, money, and other gadgets.

His attackers labeled him as a notorious thief, alleging that he goes around stealing from people.

Kofi Gyabaah, narrating the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, reported that Baron De Young Don, who had very little hair, was shaved after being beaten.

According to him, the residents complained that his modus operandi involved monitoring his victims to attack and steal from them.

He was apprehended after a friend, who had also had items stolen, monitored his movements and discovered the stolen items stashed in his room.

This friend later informed others in the area, who then apprehended Baron De Young Don.

He was allegedly beaten and had hot water splashed on him by his attackers.

During the beating, the attackers demanded to know where he had kept the other stolen items.

He confessed to selling some and entrusting others to acquaintances for safekeeping.

The reporter added that Prince attempted to defend himself but was overpowered.

His relatives had to plead with the Assemblyman of the area, Daniel Kaakyire Addae, to intervene, resulting in Prince being taken to the police.
