Sustain Government's Achievements - Apraku

Accra, Jan. 26, GNA - Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Minister of Regional Cooperation and NEPAD on Thursday tasked the newly appointed heads of mission to sustain the Government's achievements and to help t market the success story of the country and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in their designated countries. He said Ghana had been a loyal and committed member and continued to play important roles in the success of the Sub-Regional Organization, especially in the area of peace and stability and ritually paying its subscription to ECOWAS.

A statement Mr Ahmed Osumanu Halid, Media Relation's Officer of the Ministry, signed on Thursday said the Minister was addressing the newly appointed heads of mission, who were attending a two-week orientation course in Accra.

The Minister said Ghana was commended for being the first country to submit itself to the African Peer Review Mechanism process and came out successful adding, "since then it has continued to receive a lot of goodwill, which must be sustained and utilized for the benefit of all. He stated that the NEPAD's initiative was not a conditionality of the international donors but rather an initiative for African Growth, which was being managed and implemented to change the condition of life of its people. He congratulated the heads on their appointment and asked them to ensure the development of the Sub-Region.
