TC Awards 2024, All Yoruba Heroes Summit launched in Ghana

The media launch of the TC Awards 2024/All Yoruba Heroes Summit was held at the SID Apartments in Accra on Saturday, May 18.

Dignitaries, stakeholders, and members of the Yoruba community in Ghana attended the event.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Jeleel Olasunkanmi Ojuade, the Vice Chancellor of Ojaja University. Professor Ojuade highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people, emphasizing its ability to foster unity among Yoruba communities worldwide and its impact on host communities through entrepreneurship, education, and cultural exchange, significantly contributing to economic growth and social cohesion.

He called for increased collaboration between governments, organizations, and the Yoruba diaspora to maximize their socio-economic potential and urged stakeholders to support efforts in promoting unity, development, and inclusive growth.

Elder Ayokanmi Ogunremi, Chairman of the occasion, emphasized the significance of the event in celebrating the rich culture and heritage of the Yoruba people. He praised individuals of Yoruba descent for their resilience, creativity, and contributions to various aspects of life, highlighting the enduring spirit and remarkable impact they have on society.

On her part, Mrs. Sardia Mould, a Governor for the TC Awards/All Yoruba Heroes Summit 2024, stressed the importance of celebrating heroes and their legacies, encouraging everyone to be inspired by their example and strive to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of those around them.

Chief News Editor of Daily Guide and a Governor of the Tribute Concert and Awards 2024/All Yoruba Heroes Summit, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Gomda highlighted the commendable contributions of Ghanaians of Yoruba descent in various fields, leaving a lasting impact on Ghana's development.

In a call to action, Micheal Opeyemi Ige, a Development Consultant at the United Nations, emphasized the need to harness the power of collective voice and action to address challenges facing communities, locally and globally, aiming to create a brighter future for all.

Mrs. Mariam Gbajabiamila, from SBCR in the United Kingdom, emphasized the role of language in preserving cultural heritage and identity, highlighting the importance of the Yoruba language in transmitting cultural legacy to future generations.

Notable guests, including Chief Amb. Oloye Oyeyemi Fajuyi, President of the Yoruba Community in Greater Accra; Honourable Bola Akinsanya, President of the Ogun Indigene Forum, Ghana; Chief Otunba Sulaiman, the Otunba of the Paramount Yoruba Ọba of the Central Region of Ghana; and many others, delivered goodwill messages, expressing their support for the event and the Yoruba community.

HRH Dr. Mayowa José, the Alaaye of Dome-Kwabenya and Chairman of the planning committee for the TC Awards, emphasized the importance of celebrating Yoruba Heroes both in life and after death, acknowledging their contributions and inspiring future generations. Alhaji Fattau El-Aziz, the Chairman of the Yoruba Community Ghana Restructuring Committee, expressed delight in hosting the event, thanking guests, speakers, and attendees for their role in driving the community towards unity and progress.

His Imperial Majesty Kabiyesi, Oba (Dr.) Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, also sent greetings, blessings, and a goodwill message to the event organizers.

The biannual event, created by Olansile Abayomi and powered by the Yoruba community in Ghana, reflects the resilience and excellence of the Yoruba people, with organizers expressing gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their support and commitment to the Yoruba community's progress and unity.
