TESCON welcomes students to Legon Campus

Accra, Sept 8, GNA - The Executive and the entire membership of the Tertiary Education Student Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party, University of Ghana branch, on Friday welcomed both fresh and continuing students as they start a new academic year.

"We wish all students a fruitful semester as we urge all students to comport themselves in the unfolding semester and work steadily towards achieving our set aims and objectives" a statement in Accra said. The release said first semesters on the Legon Campus was usually characterized with stressful and cumbersome registration processes and asked students to bear with the university authorities as they tried to find lasting solutions to the problems.

It also urged students to adopt dialogue rather than confrontation in addressing any issues that might arise concerning their studies and stay on campus.

It further urged "all members of this intellectual community to be very circumspect and mindful as much as possible about our utterances". In a community where rumours and propaganda-fuelled perceptions are rife, we should be very careful when commenting on issues we do not know much about, especially since some of these issues are politically mischievous.".

The release also appealed to all students to support the NPP government in implementing its good policies, which were set to lead the country into prosperity and development in freedom.
