TEWU demand Salary arrears

Accra, Aug. 17, GNA - The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of the Trade Union Congress and the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG), on Tuesday embarked on an industrial action, to demand six months salary arrears from the Government.

A joint resolution by the two organisations warned: "until the arrears from January to June, 2004 and the new salary arrears for University for Development studies, have been paid in Full, our rank and file will advise ourselves".

The resolution signed by Mr Dan Antwi, General Secretary of TEWU and Mr Dominic Otomfo Essel, Federal President of FUSSAG said there was break down in communication between the two unions and the authorities of the public universities.
