Tema, Aug 10, GNA - The Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) has donated drinks and 7 million cedis to the Kpone and Tema traditional councils to support the Homowo Festival.
Tema Traditional Council received four creates of minerals, four cartons of beer, three cartons of Schnapps and three million cedis whiles Tema Traditional Council was presented with a four million cedis in addition to the same quantity of drinks.
The occasion was also to introduce Mr David Quaye Annang, the new Municipal Chief Executive, to the two traditional authorities. Mr Annang expressed the hope that the two traditional authorities would support him with their advice and prayers in his development programmes and promised to contact them for advice. At Manhean Nii Adjei Kraku 11, the Tema Mantse, lauded the efforts of the assembly in supporting the needy in education and promised to convince the people in the area to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme.
"We will support all your endeavours especially your programme in sanitation in the area to help prevent the spread of diseases.'' He thanked TMA for the donation and expressed the hope that members of the assembly would put their differences aside and unite to support the new MCE to move the municipality forward.
Nii Tetteh Otu 11, the Kpone Mantse, urged the MCE to be diligent in his dealings to ensure that he ''leaves a good name at the end of his term.''
