Tackie-Komme reaffirms commitment to peace and unity

Mr Jonathan Nii Tackie-Komme, aspirant for the National Democratic congress (NDC) Greater Accra Regional Chairmanship, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensure peace and unity for a sound victory come 2016 general election when given the nod as chairman.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview he expressed concern about disunity among the rank and file of members and said he would foster unity in the party at the constituency level.

Mr Tackie-Komme, who is also the former NDC MP for Odododiodioo, said the party would need support of everyone for the crucial election come 2016, adding “I did most of the jobs when I was the MP during my tenure, but this time I will replicate them with some modification”.

He said MPs represented the people, the District Chief Executives stood for government at the grassroots, therefore, “I will set up a political desk at the Regional Secretariat to collate information on developmental programme and projects of government to enable the constituencies to be abreast with time”.

Nii Tackie-Komme said he would encourageg the regional executives to have a close working relationship with the constituencies and make sure resources meant for them are delivered to enhance effective organisation.

According to him since the youth and women’s wing also formed the bulk of voters, he would coordinate them under sustained programmes to enable them work in happiness.

According to the former MP, “effective collaboration with the leadership of the women’s and youth wings to rejuvenate and encourage them to enter into viable job creating initiatives enshrined in the party’s manifesto were some of the things he would pursue to enable them participate fully in party activities.
