Tag yourself Mahama for millions from NDC- Nana Akomea

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has unambiguously stated that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of cannily allocating huge state funds to finance private individuals who have openly declared support for President Mahama ahead of this year’s election.

According to him, the NDC seems to have no plan of supporting the teaming mass that have no jobs to do, but appear to be more than ready to dole out millions of cedis to any group that has decided to campaign for them and has the name “Mahama” attached to their group name.

"So all you need to do is to form a group...you have Boys for Mahama, Girls for Mahama, Students for Mahama, Youth for Mahama and Volunteers for Mahama. All you do is that form a group with Mahama in the name and you go there and it is being laid on. This GIPC is just a tip of the iceberg," he said.

Nana Akomea’s commentary comes in the wake of the resignation that hit the Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), George Aboagye, following the financial scandal that rocked his outfit.

The embattled GIPC boss handed in his resignation after an emergency board meeting chaired by the Chairman, Ishmael Yamson.

Mr. Aboagye resigned following intense pressure on him for directly supervising financial impropriety at GIPC by awarding a cash reward of GH¢4000 to National Democratic Congress (NDC) foot-soldiers in the name of campaigning for President John Mahama.

He is accused of giving the nod to questionable cash payments to individuals and groups aligned to the ruling NDC.

In an interview with Joy FM, Nana Akomea indicated that the fall out from Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) scandal, was just a tip of nauseating iceberg; the NDC has mounted in the political ocean.

Nana Akomea held forth that his heart bleeds whenever government functionaries come out to do damage control whenever their sinister plots are uncovered. He advised them not to pretend they have no idea about some of the gross rot which has gained roots in their administration.

“So what does the Mahama team know? They didn’t know about the use of Otabil’s voice to pursue an agenda they are not responsible? What do they know; what are they responsible for? When you look at the lies that have attended upon even the GIPC matter, the volunteers themselves say the money has not been paid...if a group like the Hero’s fund which was launched by the then Vice President John Mahama, now president, are writing letters to public institutions to procure public funds for the group, then what are we talking about?...It is a shame because these are public monies, that are expended to prosecute the agenda of the ruling government”, he said.
