“Take Me To Court” -Mangortey Dares Akufo-Addo

As He Insist Nana Uses Drugs

Monitoring Desk Report

Mr. Owula E. T. Mangortey, one of the nation’s heard social commentators has thrown a strong challenge to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader, Mr. Williams Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to either clear his name off drug usage once and for all; purge himself of drug for goodness sake, or haul him before any Ghanaian court of competent jurisdiction for libel, if Nana claims he does not uses drug.

Speaking on Radio Gold’s ‘Alhaji and Alhaji’ political talk show Saturday 10th September, 2011, Mr. Mangortey, with much display of bravery, and mincing no word, told listeners and the entire nation that the NPP leader uses drugs and so, therefore, must not pretend as if the statements captured in the latest of US classified diplomatic cables released, by whistleblower website, Wikileaks, were meant to destroy his persona, and hard-earned reputation.

“I know it for a fact, that Nana Addo uses drugs, and he should take me to court if he feels I libel”, Mr. Mangortey yells out.

According to him, although it is of public knowledge that Akufo-Addo uses drugs, none of his accusers have been bold enough to challenge him on the matter, giving his spokespersons and lawyers the bravado to be throwing their weight about, in empty threats of defence of their client; and that is why he was volunteering himself to be dragged to any courts of competent jurisdiction, so they can deal with the matter once and for all. When the Informer caught up with Mr. Owula Mangortey in an exclusive telephone conversation after the radio programme, he told said that he was readily prepared to meet Nana Akufo-Addo at court anytime any day, if he feels his comments weren’t charitable and were damaging to his reputation in his crazy bid to become a President of the Republic of Ghana.

”In fact, I want Nana Asante Bediatuo or any of his lawyers to take me to court for us to battle it out, and they will see how disgraceful it will be to their client”, he opined.

“I want to offer myself as the sacrificial lamb so that all the hullaballoo about Akufo-Addo’s drug usage shall be set to rest” , he added.

“Nana Addo uses drugs, I know for sure and will be most grateful if Nana Asante Bediatuo, especially, will file a writ against me for my comments, he concludes. It would be recalled that Hon. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma/Odoben/Brakwa in the Central Region, speaking on Adom FM’s Adwasu Nsem on Wednesday, September 07, 2011, made similar clarion call to his party Flagbearer.

Although Mr. Appiah-Ofori didn’t spill the beans like Mr. Owula Mangortey did, nothing has since been heard as to whether or not Nana Akufo-Addo will be going to court soon to clear his name of the barrage of drug-use allegations gathering steam against him; and it’s shocking.

One wonders whether Nana Akufo-Addo truly has lawyers, as we are made to believe, to speak and defend him when these very damaging allegations were being made in public places.

Now that Mr. Owula E. T. Mangortey has openly thrown the challenge the NPP flagbearer on the issue, daring him to go to court, perhaps, the lawyer Bediatuos will soon emerge and wouldn’t play “mumu” to the matter again, but seek redress at the law court.
