Tamale to host maiden founders’ day show

VKL Entertainments in collaboration with Discovery Center has scheduled an entertainment event to be held in Tamale in honour of founders of the country, who came from the northern parts of the country.

The event dubbed: “Founders day native custom, pool side party,” is slated for September 21 and some activities lined-up include the display of various northern cultural dance, fashion show, talk-show on the histo-generic and political economy of Ghana, inter-tribes swimming competition and fun games.

A statement issued by VKL Entertainments signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Prince Henry and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale said “as we celebrate the founding fathers of Ghana's independence, we want to celebrate with you, northerners who contributed to the founding and democratic development of Ghana.”

The statement named some of the northern personalities, who contributed towards the country’s independence and democratic development as Simon Diedong Dombo, then Duori Naa of the then Upper Region, Mumuni Bawumia (Father of current Vice President, Dr Bawumia), Emmanuel Adama Mahama (Father of former President Mahama), Imoru Egala, Yakubu Tali, then Tolon Naa, and Dr Hila Liman amongst others.

It said the event would seek to ensure unity amongst all northerners regardless of their political affiliation.
