The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency in the Western Region, George Mireku Duker, has constructed and commissioned a six-unit classroom block for Mahamo Basic School to enhance teaching and learning.

The MP also constructed a toilet facility for the school.

At the same event, the MP was joined by the chiefs of Wassa Fiase to break ground for the construction of an ultra-modern astroturf for the good people of the Benso community and its environs to unearth sporting talents towards socio-economic development.

Speaking to this reporter, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP, who is also a Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, stated that the construction of the astroturf would be completed in October 2024.

"When completed in October 2024, it will become the 6th astroturf constructed by me since 2017 in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, coupled with the US$16 million reconstructed TNA Park. Tarkwa-Nsuaem is now a key haven for sports infrastructure and development in Ghana," he stated.

George Mireku-Duker also provided the Mahamo community with streetlights and electric poles to enhance security in the community.

"Earlier this year, I visited the Mahamo community, and I pledged to construct a six-unit classroom block for the community. I have honored my pledge, and I'm very happy," he said.

He thanked the chiefs and his people for supporting the project to be completed on time.

He said he would continue to do more for his constituents.

He, therefore, seized the opportunity to urge the people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency to rally behind him and the NPP government.

He charged the contractor to complete the astroturf at Benso Community on time and also appealed to the people of the Benso community to provide assistance to the contractor.

The chiefs and the people of the Benso and Mahamo communities thanked George Mireku-Duker for the kind gestures.
