Tatale Youth Association Launches Development Project

Accra, Sept 2,-- The Accra/Tema branch of the Tatale Youth Development Association has launched a two-year development programme with a call on citizens to help provide basic amenities in the Tatale area. Under the programme, an old school block is being rehabilitated at an estimated cost of 20 million cedis to be used as a community secondary/technical school. Members of the Association are contributing 15,000 cedis a man and 5,000 cedis a woman while residents at Tatale will contribute 10,000 cedis a man and 5,000 cedis a woman towards the completion of the project. Launching the programme in Accra, Mr James Yaw Kundow, National Organiser of the Association, asked Tatale citizens to fulfil their civic responsibilities by providing financial and material assistance towards projects. He said the national executive will contact Tatale citizens in other regions to form units to enable them to contribute towards on- going projects. Mr Kpandu Tindow, the acting chairman, commended those who voluntarily contributed towards the construction of a community health centre at Tatale which was partly financed by the district Assembly. He expressed the hope that members of the branch would pay their contributions on time and also visit Tatale periodically to participate in communal labour.
