Taxi driver runs to FM station to confess to leading galamseyers in burying pregnant woman alive at site

The taxi driver narrating the incident on Adom FM

A taxi driver has claimed he is ready to come forward and lead police to a galamsey site at Osino Heman, where he alleges a pregnant woman was buried alive.

The driver, who chose to remain anonymous, made the confession during a call-in segment of Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem panel discussion (Mpensenpensenmu).

He revealed that he was hired by some men and, along with a fetish priest, taken to a galamsey site where the woman was allegedly buried alive as part of a spiritual ritual to attract more gold.

“For four years, this incident has haunted me, three miners hired me for a ride. We went to pick up a certain Mallam (fetish priest) from Sehwi Akontombra and headed to Osino Heman. When we arrived, they had already kidnapped a heavily pregnant woman, whom they intended to bury alive,” he alleged.

He explained that after being hired by these armed men, he was taken to the site and ordered to use his car headlights to illuminate the scene for the operation.

The driver disclosed that the incident occurred four years ago and after witnessing the event, he reported it to the Osino police station, but the police dismissed his claims and ordered him to leave.

"All of them were armed and ordered me to keep my car lights on the scene. The pregnant woman begged for water, but the Mallam said that giving her water would ruin the ritual, preventing them from gaining enough gold. So, they buried her in a state of thirst and hunger, believing this would bring more gold.

"They completed the ritual in less than 10 minutes, warning me not to get out of the car, with guns pointed at me the whole time. After witnessing this, I immediately went to the Osino police station to report the crime, but the police told me to stay silent and leave,” he added.
