Taxi driver's throat slashed

Awutu-Ofaakor (C/R), June 19, GNA- The police at Kasoa in the Awutu-Efutu-Senya District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a taxi driver found dead in his vehicle on the Ofaakor-Bawjiase road on Tuesday with his throat slashed. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alex Buabin, Crime Officer in-charge of Kasoa police told the GNA that the victim, Kojo Adu is a mechanic apprentice at Kasoa and also a spare driver of taxi number GW 5010 U.

He said around 1730 hours on Monday, Adu went for the vehicle for his usual work but did not return until the following morning when he was found dead in his taxi with a deep cut in his throat.

ASP Buabin said no part of his body was missing but said police suspected foul play and they have mounted a search for the perpetrators. He said the body had been deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy whilst police investigations continued.
