Bolgatanga (U/E), March 30, A 51-year old tea seller, Mr Sule Adiya was on Monday night shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bawku. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, the Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Musah Abdulai said the deceased, who was a Frafra, was shot from a distance and explained that the unidentified assailants might have been aiming at some people, who had gathered at the tea seller's place to buy tea.
He said so far about 10 suspects had been rounded up by the Police and further investigations were ongoing.
The MCE noted that some criminals were hiding under the cover of the conflict and indulging in criminal activities and said the Bawku Municipal Security Council and the Security Agencies had intensified their activities to improve the situation.
He appealed to the public to assist the Council and the Security Agencies with credible information that would enable them to arrest the culprits.
Mr Abdulai warned that the law would not hesitate to deal swiftly with those who wanted to derail the peace process. He, however, indicated that the situation in Bawku was under control and people were going about their normal duties. 30 March 10
