The matter has been adjourned to April 26. The matter has been adjourned to April 26.

A 28-year-old Teacher, Gideon Saah on Friday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for indecently assaulting an 11 year old child.

Gideon was said to have inserted his figure into the girl’s private part, in December 2016 at Dansoman in Accra.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of GHc5,000.00 with one surety by the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.

The matter has been adjourned to April 26.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Agnes Boafo told the court that the complainant is the mother of the victim, and they both live at Dansoman.

She said the accused person is also the Head Teacher at Rock Dignity Academy, where the victim attends school and also lives at Flamingo near Russia a suburb in Accra.

She said during the month of December 2016, the victim and her mates went for Saturday classes, which was arranged by the accused person at the school premises.

The prosecution said on reaching the school, they waited for a long period but the accused person did not turn up, so the children decided to go to Gideon’s (accused person) house to enquire if the classes would come on or not.
On reaching the accused persons house he offered them a seat and gave them books to read outside.

Whilst reading, Gideon called the victim into his room with the intention of teaching her how to read the Bible.

ASP Boafo said the victim refused, but the accused person was able to convince her to enter the room.

She said the accused person, then took advantage of that and pushed victim into the sofa, removed her panty and inserted his finger into her private part.

After the act, the accused person warned the victim not to tell anyone and if she dares tell someone some evil omen would befall her.

ASP Boafo told the court that, the victim went home and true to the warning did not inform her parents.

In March this year the victim noticed some unusual fluid from her private part and revealed the ordeal to her parents.

Upon the information, they made a complainant at the Dansoman Police and a medical form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital for medical examination and report.

ASP Boafo said the accused person was later arrested and charged.
