Teacher donates towards streetlights in Tanoboase

Tanoboase (B/A), Oct. 24, GNA - Mr Ben Amponsah, a 47-year-old teacher from Tanoboase in the Techiman Municipality has offered a personal donation of 250,000 cedis cash towards the rehabilitation of streetlights in the community.

Mr Amponsah, a native of the town told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Tanoboase on Thursday that his offer was his contribution and support towards the efforts of the resident youth in development programmes through communal labour.

He said, as he does not reside in the area now he felt such contributions would also encourage the people in their efforts to improve conditions, so as to make the town worth living in. He expressed concern about how the faulty streetlights in the area had not been repaired for the past two years and urged stakeholders in the town to make use of his donation to repair the defect streetlights. Mr Amponsah called on the youth of the area to remain united and should not allow party politics to divide them to the extent of affecting the development of the community.

He was grateful to them for their concern efforts in initiating development programmes that would bring improvement into the lives of all the people of the area.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Tanoboase, Nana Amisare Dwomoh has commended Mr Amponsah for his voluntary spirit and kind gesture to the community and called on other citizens of the area to emulate him.
