Teachers should stop putting on "Apuskeleke" - Educationist

Nsawam, April 26, GNA - Mrs Akosua Adu, Director of Education for Akwapem South at the weekend, called on male teachers, especially to put a stop to alcoholism and smoking of cigarette in schools. She also urged the female ones to show good example by dressing decently rather than putting on indecent and tight fitting (Abuskeleke) trousers for the pupils to emulate.

Mrs Adu made the call at Ahumtem Darmang, a farming community near Nsawam during the eighth District Cultural Festival attended by seven circuit schools in the Akwapem South District with the theme: "Cultural The Bedrock of Discipline in Our Society".

The schools included Nsawam Senior Secondary, Aburi Adonteng Secondary, Kitaase JSS, Pakro JSS and Nsabaa Senior Secondary. Nana Bugyei Acheampong, District Cultural Co-ordinator for Akwapem South asked the teachers to take teaching of culture to preserve societies heritage.

Nana Acheampong commended Aburi Adonteng Senior Secondary School, which won the first prize and were award with books, followed by Nsawam Senior Secondary School, whiles the others received other prizes and certificates.

Nana Amoah Awukua II, chief of Anoof, who chaired the function asked the schools, which participated in competition show discipline both in schools and at homes to become good future leaders.
