Teachers will be supported to own houses on retirement - Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has announced a scheme that will support teachers buy their own homes and guarantee their security on retirement.


The President made the disclosure addressing the 70th anniversary of Prempeh College in the Ashanti Region.

According to the president, this forms part of measures to improve the security and quality of living of teachers.

“We are insisting on trying to formulate a policy that will enable teachers to buy their own homes and guarantee their security in their retirement.”

President Akufo-Addo, however, noted that stringent regimes are being undertaken to ensure that the improved conditions come with high standards of education in the country.

He was insistent, “government is committed to ensuring quality relevant education that will produce confident skilled global citizens fully versed in minute digital technology and ready and able to compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.”
