Team in Support of Mills

The Victory Youth Club (VYC) of Ayawaso Central Constituency has launched a network known as JEAMNET (John Evans Atta Mills network) to campaign for Professor Mills to win the presidential slot of the NDC in the congress slated for December 2002.

In a statement read by their spokesperson, Mr. Zebulon Segbefia during the launch at the Press Centre in Accra, the club said the NDC is faced with choosing a candidate who will lead the party to wrestle power from the NPP party and the ideal candidate who will be acceptable by all is Professor Mills.

Mr. Segbefia said, "the people of Ayawaso Central have come together to make sure that a credible wining leader like Professor Mills emerges as flagbearer".

He said Prof. Mills would emerge as the leader of the party at the congress and on toward victory in the 2004 elections.

Mr. Eddie Palmer who launched the campaign network said it is proper for the NDC to give Professor Mills a second chance since there are indications that he is supported by all.

He said Dr. Botchwey's inability to attend the NDC congress held at the Trade Fair Centre shows that he has less dedication for the party.

Seven members were elected as executives of the campaign network. They are Mr. Amalai Odonkor second vice president, Mr. Arish Power organizer, Alfred Kojo Triddle chairman, Zebulon Kwesi Segbefia secretary, Mariama Sani women organizer and Mr. Mohammed Hamza Tuffera first vice chairman.
