Techiman communities commend MP

Asueyi (B/A), Sept. 6, GNA - Two farming communities, Asueyi and Tenabia including Akonkonti in the Techiman municipality have commended Mr Alex Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman North Constituency for his concern towards the re-gravelling of the Asueyi-Tenabia road.

Mr Asigri Ndebugri, Assemblyman for Akonkonti, spokesman for the communities told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the one kilometre stretch of road would facilitate the movement of vehicles to marketing centres.

He said the MP had provided 12 million cedis from his share of the District Assemblies' Common Fund towards the construction of the road. Mr Ndebugri said apart from vehicles that would ply the road, farmers would now have easy access to commute and send their farm produce to the marketing centres for sale.

In another development, Mr Daniel Osei-Kuffour, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Special Assistant in charge of special duties for the Techiman municipality has also commended the two MPs for Techiman North and South, Mr Alex Kyeremeh and Mr Addai Simons for their regular visits to the constituencies.

Mr Osei-Kuffour said their frequent interaction with the people would enable them to know their needs towards socio-economic development.

He was addressing the executives and ward chairmen of both constituencies of the party at Techiman.

Mr Osei-Kuffour, however, appealed to the ward chairmen to be wary about the vain promises and lies being circulated about the alleged defection of the NDC members in the constituencies to join the NPP and the Democratic Freedom party (DFP).

He asked them not to consider it as a threat to the NDC since that was a political propaganda to twist the minds of the people and urged them to continue to keep faith with the party to win the 2008 general elections. 6 Sept. 06
