Over 400 persons are facing mass ejection following a court eviction order served by the Tema Development Company (TDC) to occupants of Kaiser Flats at Tema Community 4.
The ejection exercise scheduled for Thursday, 1 February 2018, is to enable a demolition of the structures which had been declared uninhabitable due to serious structural defects.
The decision to demolish the building for development in the area has resulted in a long-standing battle between the TDC and the occupants who have resolved to resist the move.
Occupants of those flats remain uncertain about their fate and future as they say they have nowhere to go.
Meanwhile Metropolitan Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Ebenezer Cudjoe, has indicated that the organisation is ready to partner with TDC to ensure a casualty free eviction exercise.
