Tema, Nov 29, GNA - HOGFE Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization, (NGO) has donated assorted equipment worth 280,000 dollars to the Tema General Hospital for effective health delivery, at a ceremony in Tema. Bishop Vincent Albert Duodu Boateng, President of the Foundation, who presented the items, said the Germany branch of the Foundation secured the donation.
Bishop Boateng said the donation marked the beginning of his vision to be instrumental towards improving the health delivery system in Ghana. He intimated that the Foundation was expecting five ambulances with equipment and gave the assurance that the Tema General Hospital would be one of the beneficiaries.
Dr Otoo Tawiah, Acting Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, received the items and thanked the Foundation for the gesture. He reiterated the call on public-spirited organizations and individuals to complement the government's efforts at providing the needs of hospitals to ensure quality health delivery. Mr Hans Christian Winkler, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Ghana, said the donation would cement the existing cordial relations between Ghana and Germany.
