Tema Ministers institute World Bible Day

Tema, Aug 3, GNA-The Tema Ministers' Organisation (TMO), a group of Ministers of the Gospel in Tema, on Monday launched World Bible Day, a day set aside to send the Word of God, in a very special way, to loved ones throughout the world.

The day is slated for every second Sunday of August, and during its official launch in Churches in the Metropolis on Sunday, August 8, Christians will be expected to text to well wishers, family members and friends, verses from the Bible.

Launching the day, Bishop Richard Ahiagbedey, Executive Member of TMO, said the Bible "commands us to preach the Gospel to every creature before the Lord returns."

Bishop Ahiagbedey, who is also the Presiding Bishop of Adonai International Ministries at Community 12 in Tema, said the Word of God was important for every family, and that as children of God, there was the need for Christians to take inspiration from Christ, who represents the Word.

Reverend David Nabegmado, President of TMO, stressed the need for Christians to come together as one family, to share the Word of God.

Rev Nabegmado, also a Senior Pastor of the Community Four branch of the Assemblies of God Church, also urged pastors to text messages on healing, deliverance and protection to Christians in order to encourage them in their faith.

Rev Michael Asenso, General Secretary of TMO, who conceived the idea of instituting the day, said Christians would take advantage of the occasion to exchange Christian literature as gifts.

Rev Asenso, who is also the Head Pastor of The Way Chapel International, disclosed that on World Bible Day, members of TMO would engage in "Exchange of Pulpits", during which they would have the opportunity to share the Word with the congregation of other churches other than their own.
