Ten armed robbers attack two houses at Lashibi

Tema, Nov. 17, GNA - Inmates of two houses at Old Lashibi, near Tema Community 17 were on Wednesday attacked and wounded at dawn and about 11 million cedis and mobiles phones taken away by about 10 armed robbers. The victims who received injuries were, Warrant Officer Class One Atsu Kobla (rtd), Mr. Charles Kofi Dogbe and Madam Yvonne Nabo on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.

Police Chief Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Officer told the GNA that the robbers besieged the houses and robbed Mr. George Atkipoe of one million cedis, Mr. Kwasi Ziggah and Yvonne a teacher of their mobile phones.

They wounded the three, with the landlord W.O. 1 Kobla who returned fire severely injured on the right arm and back.

He said the robbers then moved to a nearby house and took the landlord, Mr. Alex Essor and his family hostage at gunpoint and robbed them of 10 million cedis together with their mobile phones.

Meanwhile, the Tema Regional Police Command has appealed to the public to report any suspicious persons to the police and those who assist the police with information would be rewarded.
