Tuobodom chiefs petition to IGP, talk to Techimanhehe else........
The Chiefs and people of Tuobodom have fumed over the Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Council for deliberately trespassing into Tuobodom territory to lease lands which belong to the Tuoboodm thrown in order to foment trouble there.
Unless something is done immediately to cool down tempers, the tomato growing town of Tuobodom in the Brong Ahafo Region will witness yet another blood shed. Investigation conducted by this reporter indicated that the enmity between the people of Tuobodomhene and Techimanhene has reached a boiling point and as such little misunderstanding could trigger a bloody fight between the two protagonists.
This follows the forceful seizure of four men of Tuobodom by some ‘macho’ men from Techiman. On 16th February 2010, Boadu Seth, Appiah Kusi, Kwasi Abraham and Kwaku Addai were at the Fiapre Court when the ‘macho’ men stormed the place and seized the four, accusing them of taking part in the shooting of the Omanhene of Techiman on 8th October 2008. The four seized men were taken to the Sunayni police station where they were charged, taken to court on the same day and reminded in prison custody.
In a press release, signed by the Omanhene of Tuobodom, Nana Baffour Asare II and eight of his sub-chiefs, a call has been made to the president, Professor Atta Mills to impress upon the IGP to investigate the matter in order to avoid any blood shed since they can not sit down whiles their rights are being trampled on with impunity.
Speaking to the press in his palace, the Omanhene of Tuobodom, Nana Baffour recounted the incidence which happened in 1996 which led to the burning of 45 houses including ther Omanhene’s palace.and the death of three innocent persons. The said fight erupted when the late Asantehene, Otunfuo Opoku Ware elevated the Tuobodom stool to paramouncy.
According to the Omanhene of Tuonodom, on the 8th of October 2008, there was another shooting incident at the outskirt of Tuobodom when the Techiman Omanhene was on his way to Tuobodom to join another faction of the Tuobodom stool affairs to celebrate the Fofie festival.
