The Tesano District police commander, Superintendent Edward Tetteh has expressed his sincerest gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of Avcontech Ghana Limited, Nana Kweku Ofori Atta for providing the police with needed gadgets to facilitate its services.
Nana Ofori Atta last week donated and installed eight security cameras to the Tesano Police station and Superintendent Edward Tetteh has praised him for the benevolent act.
In a letter dated 8th February 2017, the Police chief showed gratitude to Nana Kweku Ofori Atta and expressed the hope that the cameras will enhance the work of the police as they seek to maintain law and order in the country.
“On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, I wish to express my gratitude to your company for the installation of eight high speek zoom out CCTV camera system at the Tesano Police District Police Command”.
“It is our hope that the kind gesture will enhance the work of the Police and further strengthen the existing cordial relationship with Avcontech Company Limited and the general public” the statement read.
The donation by Avcontech Ghana Limited comes at a time when the government has announced plans to install security cameras at the various Police posts in the nation.
The President in a speech read on his behalf by Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia at a ceremony to pass out new Police Cadets declared the government’s intention to provide CCTV cameras for all the 216 districts in the country.
“Negotiations have just been completed for the rollout of Phase 2 of the Alpha Project which will involve the deployment of 8,700 CCTV cameras in all 216 districts with three command centres in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. In line with our plans to equip the Police better, at least 1,000 new vehicles will be procured for the service this year.
“Already two hundred pick-up vehicles have been allocated with two hundred salon vehicles to be delivered in six weeks’ time with more to come”, Dr Bawumia disclosed.
