"How Rawlings sabotaged Ghana...Adu-Boahen damning Expose", is the screaming headline of Chronicle's lead story. The Chronicle quoting an article by Professor Albert Adu-Boahen, the 1992 presidential candidate of the NPP, says all the successive governments that preceded the Rawlings administration had initiated comprehensive programmes to provide for Ghana's energy needs when they were "sabotaged when Rawlings staged his reckless irresponsible, unconstitutional and absolutely unnecessary coup". The paper says Prof Adu-Boahen, in a fact-laden article dismissed government propaganda that the energy crisis is an act of nature and put the blame squarely on the President. "It should be evident that it is simply false to put the blame of the current crisis on either 'mother nature', Burkina Faso or the utility services, or even on the increasing demand for electricity by Ghanaians", the Chronicle quoted Prof Adu-Boahen as saying.
