Ahead of the 2024 elections, about 10 Ghanaian-based pastors prophesied about the elections, predicting a win for one of the major political parties in the country, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Some of these pastors made it known to the Ghanaian community, especially their congregations, that such information was communicated to them through God.

Meanwhile, the Holy Bible in Numbers 23:19 (KJV) says, "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Most prophets among these threw a challenge to their colleagues, claiming that after the election, the prophets would be separated from the people, and the men would be known from the boys when it comes to election prophecy.

The founder and leader of the Power Chapel Worldwide, Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng, reaffirmed his prophecy about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia winning the 2024 elections a few days before the general elections.

According to him, since his prophecy about the elections, many counter-predictions have been circulating, but he believes that at the end of the election, the real prophets will be known.

Speaking to his congregation in a viral video, he said, “Watch this. I stand to let you know what the Lord told me during the Science and Token Conference, which was reaffirmed when we were having the all-night service. The Lord told me this is the final verdict. Nothing has changed, and by the month of December, we shall know the men from the boys, the prophets from the people.”

Giving a prophecy to his congregants during a church service in July 2024, Rev. Kusi Boateng said that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would be declared the winner on December 9, after the polls.

According to him, the ruling NPP could risk losing a significant number of parliamentary seats to their biggest opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), if they are not cautious.

He also advised the NDC to remain vigilant to avoid a similar fate.

“The people that they say are my party members, NPP people, if they don’t take care, they will lose almost 7 to 10 seats. But then, if NDC also doesn’t take care, NPP will take over between 19 and 24 seats from them. The election is on the 7th. On the 8th, the result will not come; everybody shall be jittery.

“The result will come on the 9th. Some people will try to cause mayhem so that people shall die, and interestingly, they will call people on the street. On the first day, only 1,000 people will show up; no one will show up on the second day, and there shall be peace.

“And the result is obvious. Things are difficult; I know that there are two people coming, but the Lord has told me that by December 9, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia shall be crowned the president of Ghana,” he prophesied amid cheers from the congregation.

On the other hand, other major prophets in the country, including the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, prophesied that the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, will emerge as the winner in the upcoming general elections.

According to Owusu Bempah, God has endorsed John Mahama as the next Ghanaian President because of his good heart.

"When the prayer was going on, this is what the Lord has told me. Because of the good heart of this man, the Lord has entrusted the country in his hands again. Nothing can stop it," he stated.

Rev. Owusu Bempah, who used to be a staunch supporter of the NPP, gave this prophecy during Mahama's fellowship with the Clergy, which was held on October 1, 2024, at the DE ICON event Centre, East Legon.

Others who also prophesied in favour of Mahama include:

Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom (Opambour)

The founder of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, popularly known as Opambour, reiterated his belief that John Mahama would return to the presidency.

According to Opambour, God has chosen Mahama to lead the nation, and no force can alter this divine plan.

"God has told me that John Mahama will assume the seat of the presidency and nothing can change that. God is the one bringing him because he is the only person who can change the fortunes of the nation and no one else."

Prophet Nigel Gaisie

The leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel also prophesied a victory for John Mahama during his New Year declarations.

Gaisie emphasised that Mahama would emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.

Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi

Prophet Badu Kobi predicted that the election would go into a runoff, but ultimately, Mahama and the NDC would triumph.

Other prophecies that went in favour of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia include one from
Prophet Azuka

Prophet Azuka declared that Dr. Bawumia was destined to become Ghana's next President. He went as far as to state that if his prophecy did not come true, his church premises should be burned to the ground.

In a video shared by Express GH TV on YouTube and sighted by GhanaWeb, Prophet Azuka was emphatic about the outcome.

"Today's date should be marked; I am saying that Bawumia will win the presidential elections. I am speaking on authority. If he does not win, burn my church premises into ashes," he said.

Prophet Paul Kusi Appiah (Warrior-Prophet)

Warrior-Prophet not only prophesied a Bawumia victory but also described the attire Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), would wear during their inauguration on January 7, 2025.

He challenged those predicting a Mahama win to provide similar details.

During a panel discussion on June 28, 2024, the Warrior-Prophet declared that Dr. Bawumia, currently serving as Ghana's Vice President, and his potential running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, will win the election.

"They are claiming Mahama will win, and I am also saying Bawumia will win. I want to throw a challenge to them to tell us which position Mahama would be when we ballot because, for me, I know the position in which Bawumia would be placed on the ballot paper."

Apostle Agyenim Boateng

The Senior Pastor of Peniel Outreach Ministries International and host of "Awurade Akasa" on Angel TV/FM, Apostle Agyenim Boateng, has consistently championed Dr. Bawumia as the NPP's most strategic candidate. He warned that without Bawumia as their flagbearer, the NPP would struggle to secure even 38% of the vote.

"I am declaring today that the only hope of the NPP is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Without the [Vice President], the NPP will lose the 2024 elections. I would be extremely surprised if the party could secure up to 38% of the vote without Dr. Bawumia as the party's candidate. I came with a word of caution: if the NPP wants to win the 2024 elections, they must be very careful," the Angel TV/FM pastor proclaimed in his daily devotional on Angel TV.

Mama Pat

Controversial Ghanaian evangelist, Patricia Oduro Asiedua, popularly known as Evangelist Mama Pat, formerly Nana Agradaa, declared that God revealed to her that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will win the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential election.

In a video shared on social media on November 24, 2024, Agradaa claimed she received a divine message assuring Dr. Bawumia of victory.

"Today is November 24, 2024, and God has revealed a message to me to tell Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. God said I should tell him that he should not worry. Be calm, and you will see the power of God," Agradaa stated.

Prophet William Braham

Prophet William Braham of the Realm of Light Ministries has confidently declared that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be the next President of Ghana.

In a recent live-streamed session, Prophet Braham shared his prophecy, stating that he received this revelation from God.

He emphasised that his prediction was not influenced by personal opinions or preferences. However, it was, in his words, a spiritual message that had been divinely revealed to him.

The Prophet also critiqued other religious leaders who have been making political predictions, suggesting that they are basing their prophecies on personal judgment rather than divine insight.

He expressed strong confidence that his revelation regarding Bawumia's victory was inspired by a higher authority.

Prophet Braham provided a detailed vision: "Something supernatural is going to happen. There were 13 candidates, and my spirit was carried to a place where I saw a throne with the coat of arms on it. I saw nine steps leading up to the throne. Among the crowd, there were individuals marked, but one had a unique mark like a star within a moon, which I saw resting on Dr. Bawumia of the NPP."

He continued, "I observed that while many attempted to ascend the steps, they faltered at the fourth, but Dr. Bawumia climbed to the ninth step. A voice then commanded him to 'sit on the throne,' and as he did, there was noise and chaos, but it did not deter him. The same moon and star I saw earlier came to rest on him as he sat on the throne."

Following the close of polls on December 7, 2024, for Ghana’s presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, officially declared John Dramani Mahama the winner on Monday, December 9.

Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured a total of 6,328,397 votes, defeating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who garnered 4,657,304 votes.

The NDC also achieved a historic parliamentary victory, gaining a majority in the legislature.

According to the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC has so far secured 185 parliamentary seats, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s political history.

The election results have sparked discussions about the accuracy and credibility of prophecies made by nearly 12 pastors regarding the elections.

Rev. Kusi Boateng’s assertion that the true prophets would be distinguished by the accuracy of their predictions has ignited debates about which pastors can be deemed genuine prophets and which fall into the category of “boys” rather than “men” of God.
