General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Atik Mohammed has appealed to the Akufo Addo led-government to confer a State honour on the late popular radio presenter Kwadwo Asare-Baffuor Acheampong also known as KABA.

According to him, though young, KABA’s contribution to nation building through his show cannot be underestimated for which reason he believes it’s worthy for the state to recognize his works and honour him.

“KABA was a young statesman who discharged his duties well. If it’s possible my humble appeal to the government is that the State must find a way of honouring KABA for his meritorious service to the nation. It may be a state burial or anything that we can all say that the State of Ghana did such a thing to see him off to his ancestors. He did so well for this Republic and I think he deserves a state honour.

“KABA’s show was always enriching the national discourse on how to move this country forward. His programme was one of the few that help in enriching brains and also help in informing the citizenry.”
The former show host on Asempa FM passed on Saturday, November 18, 2017 while being rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra following a short illness. KABA was host of the popular afternoon political show, ‘Eko Sii Sen’.

KABA used to host Adom TV’s morning show – Badwam – before taking on the Ekosii Sen mantle from Kwabena Bobie Ansah.

He has had stint with Top Radio in Accra before joining the Multimedia family. He left behind a wife and a seven month old daughter.

KABA will be buried on December 16.
